We'll journey to the Nallihan Nature Reserve area, arriving in time for the serene blue hour and captivating sunrise photography sessions. This pristine reserve is not only a haven for nature enthusiasts but also home to a diverse array of bird species, providing ample opportunities for wildlife and bird photography, particularly during the magical moments of sunrise.

Returning to our hotel, we'll enjoy a hearty breakfast before taking some time to relax and explore the picturesque town. With its charming narrow streets and wooden houses, the town offers a myriad of scenes for street and portrait photography enthusiasts to discover and capture.

Following lunch in town, we'll prepare for our next adventure: the sunset photo shoot in the Nallihan badlands. This rugged landscape boasts unique geological formations, making it a paradise for drone photographers seeking creative perspectives.

After a rewarding session capturing the sunset, we'll return to our hotel for a delicious dinner, reflecting on the day's photographic exploits amidst the warmth and charm of the town.

We embark on our final journey to the badlands for a sunrise shoot, exploring new locations to discover fresh perspectives and compositions. After enjoying breakfast at the hotel, we set off for Cappadocia, a scenic drive of approximately 5 hours. Along the way, we may have the opportunity to capture stunning shots in the "Salt Lake" area, adding another dimension to our photographic journey.

Depending on our activities en route, we may arrive in Cappadocia in time for a sunset photoshoot, or alternatively, we may choose to stay around Salt Lake to capture the mesmerizing hues of the setting sun.

In the evening, we'll indulge in a delightful dinner in Cappadocia, reflecting on the memorable moments captured throughout the day as we immerse ourselves in the enchanting atmosphere of this remarkable region.

The following day, we'll embark on a captivating sunrise photoshoot, capturing the iconic hot air balloons and stunning Cappadocia landscapes from a picturesque location. It's an unforgettable spectacle as colorful balloons paint the sky with their vibrant hues. After this mesmerizing experience, we'll return to our hotel for a hearty breakfast.

To make the most of the soft morning and evening light, our photography sessions will primarily focus on sunrise and sunset shoots. However, during the afternoon, we'll engage in different activities. Today's itinerary includes a visit to an authentic pottery artist workshop, where we'll have the opportunity to photograph local artisans at work.

Following lunch, we'll venture to see the renowned "Yilki horses" at sunset, located approximately an hour away from our base. Here, we'll capture these majestic creatures galloping in the plains at the foot of Mount Erciyes, an extinct volcano. As the day draws to a close, we'll return to our hotel for dinner.

Begin the day with a captivating sunrise shoot in Cappadocia, exploring various locations to capture the magical morning light illuminating the unique landscape. Following breakfast at the hotel, take some time to relax before embarking on a photo shoot featuring a model inside an ancient church nestled in one of Cappadocia's picturesque valleys. After a satisfying lunch, indulge in a post-processing session to refine your captured images.

As the day transitions into the evening, we'll have the option to venture to Salt Lake, weather permitting, to photograph flamingos. Alternatively, we may choose to explore more of the captivating Cappadocia region. Dinner will be enjoyed either on our way back to the hotel or at a local restaurant in Cappadocia, culminating in another day of photographic exploration and discovery.

Experience the sunrise in Cappadocia from various vantage points, capturing the ethereal beauty of this otherworldly landscape. For those who have booked hot air balloon rides on their own, we recommend scheduling your flight for this morning. Please note that balloon flights are subject to weather conditions, and decisions regarding flight safety are made by the Slot Service Center, affiliated with the General Directorate of Civil Aviation.

Our journey concludes with a transfer to Kayseri Airport, where you'll begin your onward travels. You will bring with you the unforgettable memories and stunning photographs captured during our time exploring the magical landscapes of Cappadocia and beyond.

As darkness falls, transition to night photography mode and capture the celestial wonders above Factory Butte. With minimal light pollution and clear skies, the desert landscape becomes a canvas for the stars, allowing you to capture the Milky Way.

Start your day with an otherworldly experience as you awaken to the sunrise amidst the Mars-like landscapes. As the first light of dawn illuminates the unique rock formations, you'll feel as if you've stepped onto another planet.

Continue to Goblin Valley State Park and find the perfect vantage point to capture the enchanting beauty of the sunset against the backdrop of the park's striking rock formations. 

But the adventure doesn't end there. As darkness falls and the stars emerge in the night sky, Goblin Valley State Park becomes a haven for Milky Way photography enthusiasts. With its remote location and minimal light pollution, the park offers the perfect conditions for capturing the Milky Way in all its splendor. Set up your camera and tripod, and marvel at the sight of the galaxy stretching across the heavens above Goblin Valley, creating images that are truly out of this world.

Begin your day with a sunrise photography session at Moonscape Overlook, where the landscape resembles something out of a science fiction movie. 

After immersing yourself in the surreal landscapes of Moonscape Overlook, continue your photographic journey to Arches National Park for a captivating sunset experience. As the day draws to a close, find a prime spot to witness the sun sinking behind the park's iconic sandstone arches, casting a warm, golden glow over the majestic rock formations.

Lastly, indulge in the enchanting realm of night photography amidst the captivating rock formations of Arches National Park. As darkness descends and the stars begin to twinkle overhead, the park transforms into a celestial wonderland, offering endless opportunities for capturing the beauty of the night sky.

Awaken to the awe-inspiring beauty of Canyonlands National Park as you witness the breathtaking sunrise at Mesa Arch. Perched on the edge of a sheer cliff, Mesa Arch frames the rising sun in a spectacular display of light and color, creating a vista that is nothing short of mesmerizing.

As the day unfolds, continue your photographic journey to the otherworldly landscape of Bentonite Hills. Here, amidst the alien-like terrain and surreal rock formations, you'll witness the setting sun casting a warm glow over the landscape, painting the sky with hues of gold and crimson.

Begin your day with the serene beauty of the sunrise at Capitol Reef National Park. As the first light of dawn paints the sky with soft pastel hues, you'll witness the dramatic landscape of towering cliffs, colorful canyons, and twisted rock formations come alive with golden light.  After immersing yourself in the beauty of Capitol Reef, continue your photographic journey to Zion National Park for a sunset experience. As the day draws to a close, find a spot to witness the sun dipping below the horizon, casting a warm, golden glow over Zion's towering sandstone cliffs and lush river valleys. 

Begin your final day with an unforgettable sunrise in Zion National Park, where the first light of dawn bathes the towering sandstone cliffs, soaring canyon walls, and lush valleys in a breathtaking palette of gold, orange, and crimson. Find a peaceful spot along one of the park's scenic trails or overlooks and experience the quiet beauty of the desert awakening—a perfect farewell to one of America's most spectacular national parks.

After enjoying the sunrise, depart Zion for the scenic drive back to Las Vegas, allowing plenty of time for afternoon and evening departures. We recommend booking flights departing after 5:00 PM. If you prefer a more relaxed schedule or have an earlier flight the following day, you may choose to spend an additional night in Las Vegas at your own expense before departing .

On the morning of Nov 4th, we will start from our hotel  near Dallas Fort Worth Airport and travel to Caddo Lake. Since the drive is 3 hours, we advise you to arrive the day before and stay near the airport or arrive on Nov. 4 before 9 am.

We will leave at 9 AM and drive 3 hours to Caddo Lake. Once checked-in, we will have a short orientation on using the kayak safely, the areas we will photograph, and the techniques for shooting the bayou. We will have our first sunset shoot using kayaks, followed by dinner. 

Days will start well before sunrise, hoping to catch fog or mist and add that ethereal quality to our images. We will spend our afternoons for workshops, critique sessions, or touring the nearby historic town of Jefferson. We will spend our sunset sessions on a boat with a local captain or by kayak.

Afternoons will be dedicated to engaging workshops, insightful critique sessions, or leisurely tours of the quaint historic town of Jefferson nearby. As the sun dips low on the horizon, our sunset sessions will unfold, either aboard a boat with a knowledgeable local captain or gliding serenely by kayak.

Our tour will conclude after sunrise on November 8. where we will check out of our rooms and travel back to DFW for those who have evening flights or will check in at their respective airport hotels.

Our tour officially begins after breakfast on August 24, so we highly recommend arriving in Windhoek a day earlier to ensure you're well-rested and ready for the adventure ahead. To make your arrival easier, we’ll suggest a convenient hotel in Windhoek that you can book for your pre-tour stay.

Our designated airport is Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH) in Windhoek, Namibia. When booking your flights, it’s worth exploring the option of flying into Johannesburg, South Africa (JNB) first and then booking a separate regional flight to Windhoek. This route often offers more flexibility and can sometimes be significantly more cost-effective for both arrival and return. 

Our adventure begins after breakfast as we hop into our rugged 4x4 vehicles, leaving behind the bustle of Windhoek and journeying south toward the quiet town of Keetmanshoop—gateway to one of Namibia’s most otherworldly landscapes: the legendary Quivertree Forest.

This ancient grove, filled with towering aloe trees, offers a surreal scene found nowhere else on Earth. Their thick, forked trunks and golden bark shimmer in the afternoon sun, casting long shadows across the arid terrain. These giants have stood for centuries, silent witnesses to the desert winds and starlit nights.

As the sun sets and the sky darkens, the forest transforms. We’ll set up for an unforgettable night photography session—capturing the iconic silhouettes of the quivertrees beneath the stars.

Depending on how late our astrophotography session runs the night before, we’ll either greet the day with a sunrise shoot or enjoy a relaxed morning visit to the nearby Giant’s Playground.

This geological wonder lives up to its name—a surreal expanse where massive dolerite boulders are stacked like building blocks from some ancient myth. Sculpted over millions of years by volcanic activity and erosion, these formations create a natural maze of stone that begs to be explored. Here, the play of light and shadow across the rugged terrain offers striking opportunities for both wide-angle landscapes and abstract close-ups.

After some well-earned rest in the afternoon, we’ll return to the Quivertree Forest for a second night under the stars.  We’ll revisit our favorite compositions, explore new perspectives, and savor the stillness as the trees stand silhouetted against the vast night sky.

After breakfast, we’ll leave Keetmanshoop behind and journey toward our second destination: the windswept coastal town of Lüderitz—gateway to one of the most surreal photographic locations in all of Africa: Kolmanskop.

Once a booming diamond mining settlement during the early 1900s, Kolmanskop is now a hauntingly beautiful ghost town being slowly reclaimed by the desert. Sun-bleached walls, shattered windows, and grand German colonial architecture now sit half-buried in drifting sand, creating an otherworldly fusion of man-made history and raw natural power.

We start bright and early to capture Kolmanskop in the beautiful warm light of morning, when golden sunlight streams through broken windows and open doorways, illuminating rooms slowly being reclaimed by the desert.

With our exclusive two-day photography permits, we’ll have extended access to explore this extraordinary ghost town at a relaxed pace, giving us plenty of time to search for the best compositions. We’ll follow the changing light through sand-filled corridors, abandoned rooms, peeling walls, and forgotten ballrooms, where every doorway seems to reveal another photograph waiting to be made.

As the light shifts throughout the day, Kolmanskop continually transforms, offering an incredible variety of textures, patterns, shadows, architectural details, and intimate compositions.

And our photography may not end at sunset. Weather and sky conditions permitting, we’ll venture out again after dark for a Milky Way photography session, taking advantage of Namibia’s wonderfully dark skies to capture the stars above the surrounding desert landscape—a memorable ending to an extraordinary day of photography.

We’ll spend our second morning at Kolmanskop, taking advantage of the beautiful early morning light for one final photography session inside this extraordinary ghost town. As sunlight streams through abandoned rooms and sand-filled corridors, we’ll have another opportunity to discover new compositions before saying goodbye to Lüderitz.

After checking out of our hotel, we begin our journey into the heart of the Namib Desert.

Our destination: Sossusvlei, home to the tallest and most iconic sand dunes on Earth.

 As the sun begins its descent, we’ll arrive just in time to witness the dunes catch fire in the late afternoon light. Burnt orange ridges, razor-sharp shadows, and windswept patterns create a photographer’s dream at every turn

We begin our day before dawn, heading toward one of Namibia’s most iconic and extraordinary landscapes—Deadvlei.

As soon as the park gates open, we’ll make our way deep into the Namib Desert, surrounded by some of the tallest and most spectacular sand dunes in the world. Our goal is to reach Deadvlei as early as possible, just as the rising sun begins to illuminate the immense red dunes surrounding the ancient clay pan.

In those magical early-morning moments, the skeletal camelthorn trees cast long, dramatic shadows across the bone-white clay, while the towering dunes behind them glow in brilliant shades of red and orange. The contrast of ancient blackened trees, white earth, fiery dunes, and blue sky creates one of the most surreal and recognizable landscapes in Africa.

Later in the day, we'll turn our attention to the colossal dunes of Sossusvlei, photographing their elegant curves, sweeping ridgelines, textures, and shadows as the afternoon light transforms the desert.

Optional Sunset Helicopter Flight

For those looking for an even more extraordinary perspective, there may be an opportunity to take an optional helicopter flight over Sossusvlei and the Namib Desert at sunset, subject to availability and weather conditions.

From the air, the immensity of the Namib reveals itself in an entirely different way—endless waves of sculpted dunes, sweeping patterns and shadows, and brilliant desert colors stretching toward the horizon. As the sun drops lower, the dunes take on rich shades of gold, orange, and red, creating spectacular opportunities for aerial photography.

From sunrise among the ancient trees of Deadvlei to the possibility of soaring above the Namib at sunset, this promises to be one of the most memorable photography days of our Namibia adventure.

After our final sunrise shoot among the towering sand dunes of Sossusvlei—we check out of our luxury lodge and begin our journey toward the Atlantic coast.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Walvis Bay, a spectacular coastal destination where the vast Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean.

As the afternoon light softens, we’ll head to the coastline for an exciting flamingo photography session. Walvis Bay is renowned for its large populations of Greater and Lesser Flamingos, offering wonderful opportunities to photograph these elegant birds feeding and gathering in the shallow waters of the lagoon.

With hundreds of flamingos set against the shimmering water and warm late-afternoon light, we’ll look for opportunities to capture reflections, silhouettes, birds in flight, and beautiful groups of flamingos glowing in the golden light—a completely different photographic experience after several days exploring Namibia’s dramatic desert landscapes.

We kick off the day with an exhilarating sunrise 4×4 adventure into the spectacular coastal dunes near Sandwich Harbour. In the soft early-morning light, the massive dunes come alive with sweeping curves, delicate textures, and long shadows—creating endless opportunities for dramatic landscape photography.

Our experienced drivers will take us deep into this extraordinary wilderness, navigating steep dune valleys, towering ridgelines, and stretches of coastline where the immense Namib Desert meets the Atlantic Ocean. Along the way, we’ll stop at carefully selected vantage points to photograph this remarkable landscape from different perspectives.

Later in the afternoon, we’ll head back into the dunes for a second 4×4 photography adventure—this time for sunset. As the sun drops toward the Atlantic, the landscape is transformed once again. Golden light sweeps across the dunes, shadows deepen, and the warm desert tones contrast beautifully with the blue ocean below.

We begin the day with a beautiful sunrise photography session with the flamingos of Walvis Bay. 

After breakfast, we leave the coast behind and journey inland toward one of Namibia’s most spectacular landscapes: Spitzkoppe, often called the “Matterhorn of Namibia.” Its towering granite peaks, sculpted rock formations, and vast desert surroundings create an extraordinary setting for photography.

Upon arrival, we’ll have a very special opportunity to photograph the Himba people against the dramatic landscape of Spitzkoppe. Their traditional dress, distinctive ochre-colored appearance, and rich cultural heritage provide wonderful opportunities for powerful environmental portraits and visual storytelling.

As the afternoon light turns golden, we’ll shift our attention to the magnificent granite formations of Spitzkoppe, photographing the landscape as the setting sun brings out the warm colors, textures, and dramatic shapes of the ancient rocks.

But our photographic day isn't over.

After darkness falls, we’ll head to the iconic Spitzkoppe Arch for one of the highlights of our Namibia adventure—Milky Way photography. Beneath Namibia’s remarkably dark skies, we’ll compose the arch and surrounding granite formations against the brilliant stars and the sweeping Milky Way.

After breakfast, we’ll leave the desert behind and head into the heart of Namibia’s wildlife territory. Our destination: Omaruru Private Game Reserve—a beautifully diverse habitat known for its close-up wildlife encounters and tranquil, uncrowded setting.

Unlike the busier national parks, Omaruru offers a more personal and flexible experience—perfect for photographers seeking both proximity and pristine light. In the afternoon, we’ll join a guided game drive across the reserve, exploring golden savannas, dense bushland, and hidden watering holes.

After breakfast, we set off for one of the crown jewels of African wildlife photography—Etosha National Park, Namibia’s premier safari destination. Known for its vast salt pans, dramatic light, and high concentrations of wildlife, Etosha offers a truly unforgettable experience.

Upon arrival, we’ll check into our luxury accommodations just outside the park gates—an elegant lodge that offers both comfort and close proximity to Etosha’s action-packed game-viewing zones.

For the next two days, we’ll explore this legendary park in search of Namibia’s most iconic species. From herds of elephants trudging across the horizon to rare black rhinos visiting waterholes, giraffes silhouetted against the acacia trees, and lions resting in the shade—it’s a wildlife photographer’s paradise. 

We begin the day with an early morning game drive inside Etosha National Park, taking full advantage of the soft golden light that brings the landscape and its wildlife to life. This is when the animals are most active.

After a short break, we head to nearby El Dorado Game Farm—an incredible opportunity to photograph some of Africa’s most elusive wild cats in a controlled, naturalistic environment. Home to rescued and protected big cats such as lions, leopards, and caracals, the farm offers up-close photographic access that’s nearly impossible to achieve on a traditional safari. We’ll be able to position ourselves for clean backgrounds to ensure frame-worthy portraits and dynamic action shots.

As the day draws to a close, we return to Etosha for one last golden hour shoot. It’s the perfect way to end a day filled with variety, excitement, and some of the best wildlife photography opportunities Namibia has to offer.

After one final sunrise shoot in Etosha, we'll check out and begin our journey back to Windhoek.

Upon arrival in Windhoek, we’ll check into our final night’s accommodation. The rest of the evening is yours to relax, review your favorite captures, and perhaps share one last meal with the group—celebrating the friendships formed and the creative spirit that brought us all here.
